Mariam Abouzahra was born on 24th July 2008 in Germany, and descends from a family of musicians: her parents are both concert pianists. Mariam followed the steps of her sister Amira, in her third year, when she firstly attempted to play the violin.
Since September 2012, she has been a student of the violin class of Alexander Gavrilenko, at the Weinheim music school.
Since the age of 4, Mariam joined numerous events (Early Music in the former synagogue Hemsbach, the celebration of Mayor H. Lenz at his 60th birthday in the TG Hall in Laudenbach, 40 years anniversary at Sonnberg School Laudenbach, the chamber concert in the Martin Luther Church in Laudenbach, new year reception of the AWO Rhein-Neckar, Weinheimer autumn, Long night of Art Mannheim, etc.).
In November 2013, Mariam was awarded the prize of the Music School Badische mountain road for her hard work in the music school events.
In February 2014, she performed alongside with her sister Amira in five concerts in Muscat (Oman) and inspired thousands of children and adolescents under the "Music By and For Children" program. These performances were warmly appreciated by the local press.
In 2015, at the age of six, Mariam gave her orchestral debut, when she played the Bériot Violin Concerto No.7 with the Chamber Orchestra of Mannheim Abendakademie, conducted by Jürgen Weisser.
In July 2015, she performed with her sister Amira at Expo Milan in Italy with great success.
Mariam is a fellow of the prestigious Domhof Foundation. In January 2016, she was awarded the 1st prize in the competition "Jugend musiziert" in Germany.
